Dr Adnan Salim

Dr Adnan has dedicated his career to the field of neurosurgery, driven by a passion for improving patient outcomes and advancing surgical care. His journey began with earning his FCPS in Neurosurgery from the prestigious Aga Khan University Hospital in Karachi, where he developed a strong foundation in diagnosing and managing complex neurological conditions. He then further worked as an Instructor at AKUH for a year to polish these skills.

Through his training, Dr Adnan has gained extensive experience in managing spine degenerative diseases, brain and spine tumours, and trauma-related neurosurgical cases. His surgical expertise spans a wide range of procedures, including laminectomies, microdiscectomies, external ventricular drains (EVDs), ventriculoperitoneal (VP) shunts, craniotomies, spinal fusions across cervical, thoracic, and lumbar regions, and transsphenoidal resections for sellar lesions.

Beyond the operating theatre, Dr Adnan is passionate about education and mentorship. His leadership roles during residency allowed him to mentor junior doctors, guide patient management strategies, and lead educational initiatives, fostering a supportive environment for future neurosurgeons.

Joining AIMS marks an exciting chapter in Dr Adnan’s career—a commitment to delivering high-quality neurosurgical care and contributing to the growth of the institution. His goal is to ensure that each patient receives comprehensive, compassionate care and that the next generation of surgeons is equipped with the skills and knowledge needed to excel.

“Every patient deserves the best possible care, and every young surgeon deserves guidance and support to reach their full potential. I am dedicated to both.
